WASHINGTON — Clarity Media Group announced today that it promoted Mark Walters to be the new president and COO of MediaDC, which publishes the Washington Examiner. Outgoing President Steve Sparks, the newspaper industry veteran who has been with Clarity Media Group since its inception in 2004, will be retiring after a 40-plus-year media career.
Walters is an accomplished media and marketing executive who has been recognized for his innovations in leading effective marketing and sales campaigns throughout his career. He has served as MediaDC’s chief revenue officer since 2014. During that time, he spearheaded and grew MediaDC’s work with leading national organizations looking to reach Capitol Hill through advocacy-focused advertising programs.
Walters brings significant experience developing highly motivated and high-performing teams. Prior to joining MediaDC, he held executive positions with Atlantic Media, the Economist, Dun & Bradstreet, and Newsweek, among others.
