Five shot at Days Inn in northwest DC

Five people were shot at a party at a Washington, D.C., hotel early Thursday morning.

The shooting was reported to district police at around 3:30 a.m. at the Days Inn Wyndham Hotel. At least five victims were shot.

Police had previously declared that one of the victims had died. Police amended the statement hours later, noting that the individual is merely in “grave condition.”

Some of the victims were transported to area hospitals, while others went themselves, district police said.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the shooting may have started at a party inside one of the Days Inn’s rooms, where multiple people were in attendance.
