Avenatti: ‘Impossible’ for all three Kavanaugh accuser to be lying

Attorney Michael Avenatti said Thursday it’s impossible that all three women accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault are lying.

“The idea that all of these women that have come forward against Brett Kavanaugh, they all somehow conspired and agreed to derail this nomination is ludicrous. Many of these women never met each other before,” Avenatti told CNN Thursday. “All of these women cannot be lying.”

Avenatti, who is the attorney representing Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Trump, is also representing a third woman who came forward Wednesday accusing Kavanaugh of acting overly aggressive towards women at high school parties, spiking their drinks, and touching them inappropriately without their consent.

The accuser also alleges that Kavanaugh was a witness to her being gang raped at one of these parties.

Julie Swetnick came forward with her allegations after Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez made separate allegations, also stemming back more than three decades ago when Kavanaugh was in high school and a freshman in college.

Avenatti told “Good Morning America” that it’s “impossible” that Ford, Ramirez, and Swetnick were all being dishonest in their allegations.

“They didn’t sit down in some secret meeting at a Starbucks somewhere and hatch this grand plan,” Avenatti said Thursday morning on GMA. “They’re not all lying, it’s impossible.”

Avenatti would not say whether or not his client was personally assaulted by Kavanaugh, stating that she does not fully remember the details because she was drugged.

Avenatti said the validity of his client’s claims, which some are questioning, would be substantiated if the FBI were to conduct a full investigation into the allegations.

“We are not laying out all of the facts and all of the evidence right now, that’s not our obligation. We are raising a complaint detailed enough for an investigation, we want an investigation,” Avenatti told CNN. “This woman wants to take a polygraph examination and has agreed to do so if Brett Kavanaugh will do so.”

Ford took a polygraph test and the report of that test was released Wednesday ahead of her and Kavanaugh’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday.

Polygraph examinations are not conclusive evidence and are inadmissible in court, but Ford’s team says the test shows she was not lying.

“[Swetnick] was fully vetted, I have spoken to a number of corroborating witnesses relating to what my client has stated. She is believable, she’s 100 percent credible,” Avenatti said.
