President Trump said Thursday that the emergence of new text messages between former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are an ongoing “embarrassment” for the government.
“More text messages between former FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page are a disaster and embarrassment to the FBI & DOJ. This should never have happened but we are learning more and more by the hour. ‘Others were leaking like mad’ in order to get the President!” Trump posted to Twitter Thursday morning.

More messages between the two former agents, who were engaging in an extramarital affair, emerged Wednesday.
“Think our sisters have begun leaking like mad,” Strzok said in a text to Page in December 2016. “Scorned and worried, and political, they’re kicking into overdrive.”
Strzok did not specify who the “sisters” were, but retired FBI special agent and former FBI national spokesperson John Iannarelli suggested it could be a reference to other intelligence or law enforcement agencies.
Trump quoted Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett in another tweet, in which he said the whole situation is a “cesspool of corruption.”
