McDonald’s stops all-day breakfast menu amid coronavirus spread

McDonald’s is temporarily suspending its all-day breakfast menu to “simplify operations” in the fast-food chain’s kitchens.

As the fast-food burger company has reportedly been pressed to restrict “substantially all” locations to drive-through and carryout orders, McDonald’s announced it is ceasing to provide an all-day breakfast menu, a feature that was added in the fall of 2015.

“We are working with our franchisees and local restaurants to focus on serving our most popular choices and will begin temporarily removing some items from the menu over the next few weeks,” said Bill Garrett, the senior vice president of McDonald’s U.S. operations, to media outlets in a statement.

According to Garrett, the decision was made to “simplify operations in our kitchens and for our crew, and ensure the best possible experience for our customers.”

McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger also commented about the temporary policy change on Twitter, writing, “All day breakfast’s response to this news: ‘I’ll be back.'”
