A female employee at an upscale Chicago cocktail bar was taken into Secret Service custody after allegedly spitting on President Trump’s son, Eric Trump.
Photos of Eric leaving The Aviary with his Secret Service team and Chicago police presence appeared Tuesday night on Twitter.

Eric described the incident as a “disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems.” He said: “For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”
The employee has not yet been identified, but was reportedly released from police custody after Eric declined to press charges.
The incident is the latest in a string of incidents in which Republicans were harassed at restaurants. In June 2018, press secretary Sarah Sanders and her family were kicked out of Lexington, Virginia, restaurant The Red Hen by its owner, who then followed them to another restaurant to continue his protest. Former Director of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen was chased out of a D.C. Mexican restaurant by democratic socialist activists in the same month.
Kellyanne Conway, senior counselor to the president, said she was assaulted by a woman while dining at a restaurant.
Another Republican senator, Ted Cruz of Texas, was forced out of a Fiola Italian restaurant while dining with his wife last October by an angry crowd identifying themselves as ‘anti-fascist’ group Resist Racism. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, were approached that same month at a fast-food restaurant in McConnell’s native Kentucky. The protester screamed at them before other customers intervened.
