The son of basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was sentenced to six months in jail Tuesday after accepting a plea deal in connection to a charge of stabbing a neighbor.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 29, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, along with one count of carrying a dirk or a dagger, according to court documents reviewed by multiple outlets. His six-month sentence was too light after stabbing the neighbor “so violently,” according to District Attorney Todd Spitzer.
