White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Council spokesman John Kirby are taking questions from the media after President Joe Biden’s son Hunter made a brief appearance on Capitol Hill while skipping his deposition.
The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. from the White House.

Hunter Biden’s appearance outside the Capitol was to deliver a prepared statement and insist on a public hearing from the House Oversight Committee rather than a closed-door deposition. House Republicans now say they will begin contempt of Congress proceedings against the first son for disobeying the subpoena.
