Tensions rose on the View as the hosts discussed President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address and Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert’s heckling of the president with co-host Whoopi Goldberg calling her a “little girl” and guest host Michelle Tafoya taking a jab at political theatrics.
The show’s hosts discussed the politicization of the speech, in particular Boebert’s heckling when she accused Biden of putting 13 service members in coffins, in a reference to those who died in Afghanistan during a bombing outside the Kabul airport. They took issue with her choice to interrupt as the president discussed his late son.
“Who the hell do you think you are, little girl?” Goldberg shouted. “You don’t have to like this president to be respectful of him talking about the military and his son who died. You don’t have to like him, but you must be respectful. You’ve got to be.”
Michelle Tafoya, former NBC sportscaster and current guest host, sang a line from the LEGO Movie song, “Everything is awesome,” but with a word change, “Everything is political.”
“Her goal was to be talked about, I think,” Tafoya said, referencing Boebert. “Everything’s political. It just is. I mean, you have to look at the political reasons she did that. She wanted to stand up, and she wanted to be viral.”
BIDEN’S STATE OF THE UNION DOESN’T TOUCH TRUMP’S 2020 VIEWING AUDIENCE
Co-host Sunny Hostin did not approve. “But it lacked decorum,” she said. “There has to be some sort of decorum in our politics.”

“I’m not forgiving it!” Tafoya said over Hostin. “I’m not forgiving it, I’m not forgiving anything, Sunny. I think it was totally inappropriate. I don’t think you can explain it away.”

Co-host Sara Haines also noted that Tuesday night’s speech caused her to reflect on American freedom in a new way.
“Thank God I can roll my eyes at Marjorie Taylor Greene and yet continue to value that freedom to do exactly that in the chambers [of Congress],” Haines said. “I had never seen it that way before.”
