CNN: Hannity’s appearance with Trump a ‘schizophrenic moment’ for Fox

CNN host Alisyn Camerota says Sean Hannity’s campaign rally appearance with President Trump Monday night shows Fox News is struggling to understand how it should cover the White House given its clear support for Trump.

“They know, vaguely, that they’re not supposed to have one of their hosts endorse a candidate or a party,” Camerota said Tuesday morning. “But Sean Hannity can’t help himself.”

She played a clip of Hannity saying he had “no idea” Trump was going to invite him up to the stage. Hannity also called out other members of the press covering the event and said they were all “fake news.”

“They’re having a schizophrenic moment over there, trying to figure out what their role is supposed to be with the Trump presidency,” Camerota said.

Hannity insisted before the Monday night rally in Missouri that he would not be appearing on stage with Trump. Camerota said of Hannity’s claim he had no idea he would be invited onstage, “Who does he think he’s fooling?”
