‘This is for people with dementia’: Joe Scarborough mocks Trump for bragging about passing cognitive test

Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough spent part of Monday morning joking about President Trump’s brag that he aced a cognitive test.

“This isn’t the first time the president has actually bragged about passing an Alzheimer’s test,” Scarborough said on MSNBC. “This is for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. They give them this test. And here we have a man running the most challenging job in government, not only in this country but probably anywhere across the world, bragging about being able to identify a lion, a camel, and he says the last questions are tough.”

Trump, 74, discussed passing the 35-question exam, which includes such tasks as drawing a clock at a certain time or counting backward, during an interview with Fox News anchor Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. Trump bet that former Vice President Joe Biden, 77, couldn’t pass the test.

Trump’s reelection campaign often puts out ads and videos pointing to Biden’s blunders or slip-ups on certain topics to question his mental acuity. Trump’s critics, too, have raised concerns about his mental sharpness.

Scarborough also hit at Trump’s supporters, telling them to Google the test for themselves and measure the intelligence of the president.

“Trump supporters, look at this test,” he said. “He thinks you’re so stupid that you can’t Google this test, but you can. You’ve got a Google machine. Go on your Google machine. This is your president, who has the nuclear codes, who thinks that because he passes this test and passes the last — he says the last questions are very tough. Are you ready for this? What is the date today? What month are we in? What year is it? What day is it? What place are we sitting in right now?”
