President Trump thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping Friday for his assistance in getting North and South Korea to talk about formally ending the Korean War and denuclearizing the peninsula.
“Please do not forget the great help that my good friend, President Xi of China, has given to the United States, particularly at the Border of North Korea,” Trump tweeted. “Without him it would have been a much longer, tougher, process!”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in held a summit on the south side of the border Friday that led to a pledge to denuclearize the peninsula. In the declaration stemming from the summit, that both leaders signed, they also vowed to work with the U.S. and China to officially end the Korean War with a peace treaty.
