My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell told President Trump during a June 9 meeting that his campaign ads should maintain a positive tone and assured him of a “landslide” come November.
“The president likes my opinions obviously with ads — I do put out a lot of ads,” Lindell told Bloomberg. “My ads would all be positive. Here’s a problem, solution, and here’s what it’s going to manifest to. And that’s what our president is so skilled in.”
A staunch Trump supporter, Lindell features prominently in his own television ads for the Minnesota-based company, which tout his products’ American manufacturing.
Lindell joined Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, Vice President Mike Pence, and other officials at the meeting just five days after the president summoned Parscale and senior political advisers from his Cabinet and reelection campaign as polls showed him performing poorly in battleground states.
“One hundred percent, he’s going to carry Minnesota. I promised him that,” Lindell said, adding that the state would be critical to the election as well as to the country’s “spiritual warfare.”
He added: “I personally think it’s going to be a landslide. I really do. I think it’s going to be a landslide of epic proportions. Nationally.”
Trump’s presumptive opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, leads the president in head-to-head polling in Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Arizona, four of five key battleground states, according to each state’s RealClearPolitics average. The two are neck and neck in North Carolina.
In Minnesota, Biden leads Trump by 5 points, at 49% to 44%, according to a May 25 survey of 800 registered voters conducted by the Star Tribune. The results mark an improvement for the president from the same poll conducted in October last year, in which Biden outpaced Trump by 12 points, registering 50% with Trump at 38%.
Speaking to Bloomberg TV on Wednesday, Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh criticized “public polls,” saying “they’ve always been wrong about President Trump, as we learned in 2016.”
