Eric Trump said Wednesday that Rep. Maxine Waters’ ongoing talk about impeaching his father would backfire and end up helping Republicans in the November midterm elections.
“People are sick and tired of this nonsense,” Trump’s son told Fox News. “You have her saying ‘impeach, impeach, impeach.’ What is their [Democrats] message right now? They don’t have a message.”
“This is their message? That’s what they are taking to the polls? That is not going to win,” he added. “The anti-law enforcement, high taxes, and elimination of plastic straws is not a message that will win in November.”

On Saturday, Waters said that when people tell her to stop talking about impeachment, she doesn’t listen to them and instead talks about impeaching Trump more frequently.
“They say, ‘Maxine, please don’t say impeachment anymore,’” Waters said Saturday after receiving an award from Stonewall Young Democrats. “And when they say that, I say impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment, impeachment.”
She also said if the effort to impeach the president were successful, she would then start working on an impeachment campaign against Vice President Mike Pence when he takes over.
Eric Trump also said that the author of the anonymous New York Times op/ed and journalist Bob Woodward are “cowards.”
“They’re cowards,” Trump said. “People know better. Just look at every quantifiable measure of our economy and our country, we are doing so unbelievably well. He has compassed more in the first 24 months than probably any president in history.”
