These protesters were not “eatin’ good in the neighborhood.”
Four people were arrested at a New York Applebee’s Wednesday night after attempting a “sit-in” protesting the city’s vaccine mandates, according to officials.
“What happened to the Constitution? What happened to free speech?” one protester was heard asking in a clip posted by independent photographer Leeroy Johnson.

Officers responded to a call from a 25-year-old female at Applebee’s at 9 p.m., in which the caller claimed that several individuals had entered the property and refused to leave the premises, according to the New York Police Department.
“Officers gave several lawful orders to the group to leave the location, which they refused,” the NYPD told the Washington Examiner. “Four protesters were placed under arrest without any further incident at 21:56, hours after refusing to comply to a lawful order.” The individuals were then charged with criminal trespass, police added.
Other clips featured the crowd chanting “Shame on you” while officers escorted those they arrested out to their vehicles.
The Applebee’s protest occurred a day after six unvaccinated individuals were arrested in a Cheesecake Factory located at the same mall on Tuesday night.
Protesters appeared to gather around that mall in a larger protest, based on Twitter videos. One video shows protesters surrounding the Cheesecake Factory and yelling about how vaccine mandates are “unconstitutional.”

New York City implemented a vaccine mandate in August requiring proof of vaccination to enter restaurants or gyms.
Applebee’s did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s request for comment.
