Sen. Jeff Flake R-Ariz., defeated Sen. Cory Booker D-N.J. during a “snowball duel” Thursday on Capitol Hill.
The senators announced their partisan snowball battle on Twitter Thursday morning in what Booker described as an Aaron Burr-and-Alexander Hamiliton style duel. The loser of the fight would have to buy the other’s staff pizza.
“It wasn’t exactly Hamilton-Burr, or even Trump-Biden, but it was a monumental battle. @corybooker’s drop & roll maneuver was legit,” Flake tweeted after his victory.

Prior to the lawmakers duking it out, Flake tweeted saying he was taking partisan fighting amid the heated political climate on Capitol Hill up a notch.
“With so many fights on Capitol Hill, @CoryBooker and I are going literal: Snowball duel. East lawn Capitol Hill. In 5 minutes Loser buys other staff pizza.”

Booker, known for bringing his veganism to the public sphere, lost the battle 3-2 and joked he would send the Republican senator’s office a vegan pizza or two.
With great ignominy I have to announce I lost the snowball fight 3 to 2.
I’m buying the pizza for his office . . . . I neglected to tell him though that I am definitely sending a vegan pizza or two. pic.twitter.com/iW3I19kmdt

The snowball fight came a little more than a day before the government was set to shutdown because lawmakers have not passed a bill funding government operations past Saturday at midnight.
