Joe Scarborough on Stormy Daniels ’60 Minutes’ interview: ‘We found out nothing new’

MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough, a frequent critic of President Trump, said the highly anticipated “60 Minutes” interview with porn actress Stormy Daniels fell short of expectations.

Scarborough on Monday said that Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, and her lawyer Michael Avenatti failed to deliver the potentially damaging information that they had promised.

“As a young lawyer, I remember being told never over-promise. … It seems to me that we have an attorney that’s done just the opposite,” he said. “He over-promised. He sent out tweets with pictures of a CD-ROM suggesting some big explosion. He told us two weeks ago that she was threatened with assault and we would find out more on ’60 Minutes,’ when in fact we found out nothing new on ’60 minutes.'”

Daniels is accusing Trump of engaging her in an extramartial affair more than a decade ago and using his lawyer, Michael Cohen, to silence her with a non-diclosure agreement.

Avenatti, her lawyer, has also said that Daniels was threatened with physical violence if she spoke publicly about the alleged affair.

The White House has denied the allegations.

Sunday on “60 Minutes,” Daniels recounted the alleged relationship, potentially violating the non-disclosure agreement. She did not reveal more details about the alleged threat against her.
