‘Give him a shiv’: Bette Midler sticks it to Trump after he called her ‘psycho’

Singer-songwriter Bette Midler sent a veiled threat to President Trump after he called her a “washed up psycho” for attributing a false quote to him.

“He actually looks better here! Maybe someone in his camp can gently give him a shiv. I mean, shove,” Midler said Tuesday on Twitter.

President Trump said earlier via Twitter: “Washed up psycho @BetteMidler was forced to apologize for a statement she attributed to me that turned out to be totally fabricated by her in order to make ‘your great president’ look really bad. She got caught, just like the Fake News Media gets caught. A sick scammer!”

Midler, 73, an actress and singer has frequently criticized Trump. She is best known for known for her songs “The Rose” and “Wind Beneath My Wings” and movies “Down and Out in Beverly Hills,” released in 1986, and “The First Wives Club,” a decade later.

Trump’s tweet was in response to Midler apologizing Monday for sharing a fake quote by Trump calling Republicans “the dumbest group of voters in the country.”

“He certainly knew his crowd,” Midler said about the quote on Twitter.

“I apologize; this quote turns out to be a fake from way back in ‘15-16,” Midler said after Twitter users pointed out her mistake. “Don’t know how I missed it, but it sounds SO much like him that I believed it was true!”

Midler’s criticism came as Trump arrived in Britain for an official state visit.

“Trump said he was greeted by thousands in the UK, but they were actually thousands of protesters,” Midler said. “How does he always hear the opposite of the truth? Donald, if you’re reading this you SHOULD NOT slam your dick in a door!”
