ABC’s The View host Joy Behar returned to the show from London and told her fellow hosts she heard they took Sen. Rand Paul to task during his appearance on the show.
“I didn’t watch the show, but I heard you guys kicked Ron Paul’s ass,” she said Thursday, briefly confusing Rand Paul with his father Ron Paul. Rand Paul had gone on The View Friday, when Behar was not there, to promote his book and defend President Trump’s decision to move troops out of northern Syria.
“Did you?” Behar asked host Sunny Hostin.
“We challenged him,” Hostin responded. “Which is what we tend to do here.”
Paul’s appearance on the show was tumultuous with each of the hosts attacking him for policy positions. His appearance ended with host Ana Navarro cutting him off and telling him he was trying to “mansplain” to her.
The Kentucky Republican then criticized the show’s hosts in a radio interview a couple days later.
“Oh my goodness, was I on The View,” Paul said. “You can’t even get a word in edgewise. Those women go on and on yelling and screaming.”
The hosts have been critical of Paul before his appearance on the show. Host Meghan McCain said the Kentucky senator had “blood” on his hands for supporting pulling troops from the Middle East.
