On Tuesday, China’s Foreign Ministry announced it would reduce tariffs on imported vehicles from 25 percent of the wholesale value to 15 percent. The country’s government also vowed to lower tariffs on imported car parts.
Trump’s tweet indicates a warming on trade issues between Washington and Beijing that may end up helping Detroit.
