VIDEO: As supply chain issues continue, Biden tries to reassure the public

Will the supply chain crisis be eased in time for the holidays?

President Joe Biden tried to assure the public that it’s at least being worked on. He addressed the country in a video posted Tuesday, noting he knows that people are “worried.”

“I know a lot of Americans are worried whether or not there’s going to be enough stock on the shelves for Thanksgiving and for Christmas, whether they’re going to be able to get what [they] need because there was a short supply last year because of COVID and a range of other things,” he said. “But, you know, I just got off the phone with the largest retailers in America.”

Biden spoke with UPS CEO Carol Tome, FedEx CEO Fred Smith, and Target CEO Brian Cornell.

They told him “things are really moving along,” he said.

“The expectation is that it’s not going to be like this time last year,” Biden continued after mentioning that he sped up the transportation of products that come to the West Coast through the Pacific Ocean.
