Former President Donald Trump blasted the U.S. women’s Olympic soccer team Thursday for being “woke” after its loss to Canada.
“If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” Trump said in a statement. “Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has.”
“There were, however, a few Patriots standing. Unfortunately, they need more than that respecting our Country and National Anthem. They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again,” he continued. “The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!”
WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM OUSTED FROM OLYMPIC FINAL SHOT AFTER SHOCKING LOSS
Canada beat the United States 1-0 after a goal from a penalty shot scored by Jessie Fleming. The women’s defeat to Canada means they lost their shot at the gold medal and instead took the bronze medal.
“It’s terrible. We just didn’t have it today. Just too many errors from us again. I felt like the space was there for us to play, and we just couldn’t get into it. Too many touches or, you know, an errant touch,” U.S. team forward Megan Rapinoe said of the loss.
Trump was apparently referring to Rapinoe as the “woman with the purple hair.”
“So it’s a bitter one. Obviously, there’s still a lot to compete for,” Rapinoe continued. “That’s what I told the girls and what we talked about in the huddle. It’s not the color we want, but there’s still a medal on the line. That’s a huge thing, and we want to win that game, but yeah, this is … this sucks. It sucks.”

Rapinoe is an advocate for several left-wing causes. She has kneeled for the national anthem as an act of protest, and in 2019, Rapinoe said she would refuse to go to the Trump White House.
