President Trump declared victory after landing in the U.S. early Wednesday morning after his trip to Singapore, and said North Korea no longer poses a nuclear threat after his summit meeting with Kim Jong Un.

“Just landed — a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea,” Trump tweeted. “Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!”

Trump said before he took office, everyone thought war with North Korea was imminent, but said the can now “sleep well.”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Trump met in Singapore for a historic summit June 12 to discuss denuclearization and the possibility of North Korea entering the world marketplace and securing a better future for its people.
Trump also defended his decision to end military exercises with South Korea while talks with the North continue.
