As pundits tried to make sense of the results from the New Hampshire primary, President Trump was online, offering his two cents as well.
Trump ripped into the Democratic Party and several candidates individually as the results trickled in on Tuesday night. The president singled out several of his potential 2020 opponents and offered some analysis of who he thinks will come out on top.
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was the first target of the night. After placing fourth and earning no delegates, Trump ripped her for “having a really bad night.” He also bashed businessman Tom Steyer, tweeting, “Impeachment King Steyer (how did that work out?) spent 200 Million Dollars and got less than 1% of the vote in Iowa, and only 3% of the Vote in New Hampshire. Could it be that something is just plain missing? Not easy to do what I did, is it?”

The president noted that there were “a lot of Democrat dropouts” after Michael Bennet and Andrew Yang announced the end of their campaigns. He claimed they both had a “very low political I.Q.”

Trump also ripped former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who was not even on the ballot in New Hampshire. While Bloomberg did win the first-in-the-nation primary of Dixville Notch as a write-in candidate and took the lone Republican vote, that didn’t stop Trump from tweeting, “A very bad night for Mini Mike!”

The only candidate who received a somewhat positive reaction from Trump was Pete Buttigieg. The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor landed in second place behind Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Trump tweeted, “Bootedgeedge (Buttigieg) is doing pretty well tonight. Giving Crazy Bernie a run for his money. Very interesting!”

Trump claimed that there was no “big Democrat story” out of the New Hampshire primary. Sanders was declared the winner, but the 2020 race still remains wide open as Joe Biden, who placed fifth, expects to pick up steam in the south, and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar surged to third. The president argued that the focus of the night should have been his primary results instead.
He riffed, “The Fake News Media is looking hard for the Big Democrat Story, but there is nothing too fabulous. Wouldn’t a big story be that I got more New Hampshire Primary Votes than any incumbent president, in either party, in the history of that Great State? Not an insignificant fact!”

With 87% of precincts reporting, Sanders led New Hampshire with 25.7% of the vote, followed by Buttigieg and Klobuchar, who earned 24.4% and 19.8%, respectively. Sanders and Buttigieg are projected to earn nine delegates each, and Klobuchar will take the remaining six delegates. Warren and Biden both failed to earn delegates, bringing in just 9.3% and 8.4%, respectively.
Trump currently holds 85.5% of the vote in the state’s Republican primary, while challenger Bill Weld received 9.2%. The president’s share of the vote is approaching the record high for an incumbent president of 86.43%, which was set by President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
