Vermont man’s ‘Trump 2020’ flag torched

A man in Burlington, Vt., who had a “Trump 2020” flag flying in his yard says he woke up last weekend to find the flag burned and tossed on his front porch.

According to local CBS-affiliate WCAX, Gus Klein, an Afghanistan war veteran, noticed his flag pole on the ground Sunday morning and went outside and discovered the campaign flag damaged.

“I was in bed sleeping with my family and I don’t know if this flag was on fire when they threw it on my front porch. I can assume it wasn’t, but if it was that’s not right at all,” Klein told the TV station. “There is fear in my mind and it’s not right. I should be able to come and go as I want, and we should be able to sleep at night in our own property, so there is fear.”

Police are reportedly investigating the incident.

Klein said that he would not let the attack diminish his support for President Trump. “It’s not going to stop me for believing in who, and campaigning for who I believe is right for the United States,” he said.

A Gallup poll released in early 2018 showed that Vermont had the lowest approval rate of Trump among all 50 states.
