House Speaker Nancy Pelosi forgot the name of a deputy to President Trump after he asked her a question during a budget negotiation earlier this year, according to a new report.
“What was your name again, dear?” Pelosi asked White House budget director Russell Vought after he addressed her in the meeting, according to the Washington Post.
The Post report suggested the incident was an example of a deepening fracture between congressional Democrats and the Trump administration.
Pelosi has been fighting back attacks from the Left wing of her party and has repeatedly said potential impeachment proceedings against Trump are “not worth it.”
A disagreement over funding for border security between leading Democrats and Trump shut the government down for weeks late last year.
Trump has called Pelosi “crazy,” and “a mess” on multiple occasions.
