Fox News announced that Ed Henry will replace Bill Hemmer on America’s Newsroom after Hemmer leaves to fill the slot vacated by Sheppard Smith.
Henry, who currently hosts Fox & Friends Weekend, will join host Sandra Smith on the morning show that airs from 9 a.m to 12:00 p.m. E.T. Henry, 48, has been working as Fox News’ chief national correspondent since 2011. He had previously been with CNN on Inside Politics.
The switch is the latest shift at Fox News that has taken place since Sheppard Smith announced that he was leaving the network in October. The networked announced in early December that Hemmer would be moving to the 3 p.m. E.T. time slot, leaving Sandra Smith without a co-host. Now, Henry will join Sandra Smith on America’s Newsroom, which will continue to air with two anchors.
Fox host Bret Baier congratulated Henry on the new gig, writing, “Congratulations to my friend [Ed Henry] who takes over from [Bill Hemmer] at [America’s Newsroom] alongside [Sandra Smith]. It will continue to be a great show! I am honored to be on 2x a week. Including today.”
