With her daughter still single, one mother with breast cancer is going back to the drawing board.
Beth Davis, diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that spread to her bones, placed the 47-foot-by-25-foot billboard featuring the Wingman dating profile of her daughter, 30-year-old Molly Davis, in New York City’s Times Square last week.
“I would like to see my daughter well-settled,” Beth Davis told the New York Post. “Considering that I have serious health issues, there is urgency.”

The billboard was paid for and arranged by Wingman founder Tina Wilson, who was touched by the story.
“Beth’s passion for helping her daughter was undeniable and whilst the profile was heartbreaking it was also feisty, brave, spirited,” Wilson said in a statement shared with the Washington Examiner. “It possessed the true spirit of what it means to be a wingman, helping someone else.”
The ad, placed above a store called Tonic, advertises the dating app Wingman, which family and friends can use to write testimonies as virtual wingmen.
“Molly is a ray of sunshine,” she wrote in her testimony for her daughter. “From the moment she wakes up, she tries to improve the lives of everyone around her. She does this by laughing easily and often, as she mostly sees only the good in people.”
Molly Davis said she thinks the ad casts a wider net. She said her dream man is humorous, smart, and kind with the essence of movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Ryan Reynolds.
“I want someone who adores me and someone I adore as well,” she said. “I want someone who adds to my life. If this broadcasts that, it will all be worth it.”

Beth Davis, who previously worked in pharmaceutical sales, said she hopes to keep the cancer at bay for at least another two years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 but treated it with chemotherapy. In June 2020, she learned the cancer had returned and spread into her bones. She is currently being treated with Ibrance tablets.
