VIDEO: Oregon woman holds suspected arsonist at gunpoint until police arrive

A woman in Oregon was captured on film holding a suspected arsonist at gunpoint until police arrived.

“Get on the floor right now, face down! What are you doing on my property?” the woman, Kat Cast, shouts at the man in the video recorded Saturday. “Did you light anything on fire?

The unidentified man was allegedly walking around on Cast’s property holding matches as wildfires rage in the state.

The man told Cast that he was “just passing through” and that the matches were to light cigarettes. However, he later admitted that he had no cigarettes on his person.

“I will tell you something, though, if I need to do this again to protect my family and my neighbors, I will in a heartbeat do it again, except this time I will not be as nice as I was,” Cast said.

She also shut down any rumors circulating online that the video was staged, writing on Facebook that it “truly did happen and there is nothing fake about it.”

Wildfires are spreading across Oregon and California, forcing residents in some counties to evacuate. One Oregon couple said they evacuated their home due to the Unger Fire only to watch their home security system record looters break in.
