Prince Andrew wants the opportunity to do a second interview about his connection to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein according to a royal source.
“There are rumors swirling that Andrew wants to do another interview,” the source told Vanity Fair on Tuesday. “Andrew hasn’t drawn a line under it. He wants the chance to put right the things he didn’t say. Newsnight gave him the chance to show some remorse. He was asked if there was anything else he wanted to say. It was an open goal — he didn’t grasp it, and I think he sees that now.”
Buckingham Palace said they were “not aware” of any potential second interview. Dickie Arbiter, Queen Elizabeth II’s former press spokesman, said he thinks the queen will definitely confront Andrew over his first interview.
“We’ve got to look at the queen as two people. She’s queen, head of state, but she’s also a mother,” Arbiter said. “And she will be looking at her son, and will be asking did this really happen, in a private conversation. She has to put on a brave face in public. She has to be collegiate in public, but in private, she will really want to know from Andrew what is going on. And I don’t think she’s getting the answers.”
Andrew gave an interview that aired over the weekend in which he struggled to dispel allegations that he raped a 17-year-old girl Epstein had set him up with.
“I have no recollection of ever meeting her. I’m convinced I was never in Tramps with her,” Andrew said despite being in a picture with his accuser.

Do you think Jeff Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre (pictured here, with Prince Andrew and Ghisela Maxwell) is telling the truth about Dershowitz or not? pic.twitter.com/4d6gA2ilix
