Trump rekindles war against ‘totally dishonest’ media

President Trump on Thursday kept up his war against the media by calling them the “enemy of the people,” and predicted that the leader of NBC News would soon be fired.

“I just cannot state strongly enough how totally dishonest much of the Media is,” Trump said on Twitter Friday morning. “Truth doesn’t matter to them, they only have their hatred & agenda. This includes fake books, which come out about me all the time, always anonymous sources, and are pure fiction. Enemy of the People!”

Last month, Trump intensified his attacks towards media by repeatedly using the phrase “enemy of the people.” Trump even had a meeting with the publisher of the New York Times last month, where he said he spoke about how the media has morphed into that phrase.

However, Trump later clarified his statements, claiming that he was only talking about “fake news” when he used the phrase, and was not calling all media the “enemy of the people.”

In his string of tweets Friday morning, Trump said that both CNN and NBC News are unable to function due to the “hatred and extreme bias” the networks have towards him.

He also called for the president of CNN, Jeff Zucker, to be fired, and predicted that NBC News chairman Andy Lack will most likely be pushed out soon.

“The hatred and extreme bias of me by @CNN has clouded their thinking and made them unable to function. But actually, as I have always said, this has been going on for a long time. Little Jeff Z has done a terrible job, his ratings suck, & AT&T should fire him to save credibility!”

“What’s going on at @CNN is happening, to different degrees, at other networks – with @NBCNews being the worst. The good news is that Andy Lack(y) is about to be fired(?) for incompetence, and much worse. When Lester Holt got caught fudging my tape on Russia, they were hurt badly!”

Reports emerged earlier this week that Lack could be pushed out of NBC over his mishandling of a series of #MeToo scandals.

According to a Page Six report, Comcast has been seeking a replacement for the 71-year-old chairman following sexual misconduct allegations against former “Today” show host Matt Lauer, and former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw, among other incidents.
