Anthony Scaramucci: Trump won’t tweet about Stormy Daniels because he’s a ‘Duraflame log’ who fuels fires

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Tuesday the administration’s decision not to have President Trump tweet or publicly address issues related to Stormy Daniels is the best strategy because he has a history of turning small fires into huge disasters.

ABC’s female co-hosts on “The View” asked Scaramucci, a friend of Trump, if White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was employing the best strategy in its handling of comments Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has made.

“I think it is the best strategy,” Scaramucci said. “I think the president is a Duraflame log and anytime you throw him on a fire, it blows into the stratosphere. So I think that’s the best strategy. So if I was inside the room with them, they made a statement about it and I would let it go from here.”

Sanders told the media during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon that the White House would not continue to comment on matters related to Trump, Daniels, or Trump lawyer Michael Cohen.

“We have’s addressed it extensively. There’s nothing else to add. Just because you guys continue to ask the same question over and over and over again doesn’t mean that we have to keep coming up with new things to say,” Sanders said.

Daniels is attempting to get out of a nondisclosure agreement she made with Cohen and Trump in 2016. She was paid $130,000 by Cohen not to speak about an affair she had with Trump during his marriage to first lady Melania Trump a decade ago.

The payment may be in violation of campaign finance laws. Daniels has also claimed she was threatened by a mysterious man in 2011 and alleged it was someone from Trump’s camp.
