‘Eye-opening, powerful, sometimes hilarious’: Hillary Clinton to debut podcast ahead of election

Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will star in a new podcast premiering about a month before the Nov. 3 election.

The former secretary of state partnered up with iHeartMedia to produce the new podcast called You and Me Both with Hillary Clinton, which will premiere its first episode on Sept. 29, according to CNN. The show is slated to air 24 episodes featuring both lighthearted and more serious conversations with guests ranging from comedian Sarah Cooper, activist Gloria Steinem, and Queer Eye star Tan France.

“I’m excited to bring these eye-opening, powerful, sometimes hilarious conversations to the forefront and open up new avenues of discussion with some of the people I find most fascinating,” Clinton said. “This podcast is a chance to talk about subjects that are too often overlooked and share the inspiration and education I’ve gotten from my guests.”

The production company said Clinton will be discussing the “pressing political issues of our time” and “will tackle the subjects on so many people’s minds, including topics like faith, resilience, and grief.”

Many former politicians flock to television after their political careers have ended, but there has also been a growing trend of joining the podcast world too. Clinton follows Michelle Obama, Pete Buttigieg, Andrew Yang, and others in starting a podcast.

Conal Byrne, president of the iHeartPodcast Network, said the podcast “will provide listeners with an astute, nuanced look at what’s happening in the world right now — and Hillary is the perfect moderator for those discussions.”
