Sen. Ben Sasse tore into LeBron James after the NBA superstar went after Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey for defending Hong Kong freedom protests.

Earlier, James told reporters that Morey was not educated about the Hong Kong freedom protests and that freedom of speech could have negative ramifications.

Morey ignited a feud between the NBA and China when he tweeted out his support for the ongoing Hong Kong freedom protests last week. The NBA initially apologized for offending China before also saying they stood by Morey’s freedom of speech.
The league has subsequently kicked fans out of NBA games for showing support for Hong Kong and has ended media access to players in China.
Sasse has criticized the NBA for its handling of the situation, saying earlier Monday that they had surrendered to China.
