SEE IT: First images and videos of war in Ukraine

Photos have begun to emerge Thursday showing the beginning stages of war and a country in peril just hours after reports Russia has invaded Ukraine.


Since Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared in a video early Thursday morning announcing “a special military operation” in Ukraine, photos and videos in the country illustrate a bloody attack. Civilians are hiding in subway stations and people are fleeing the capital city of Kyiv as buildings burn from airstrikes, the images show.
