Former Vice President Joe Biden’s book tour stop in his hometown of Wilmington, Del., was disrupted by a man who accused Biden of molesting children during a Senate swearing in ceremony.
“What about the girls you molested on C-Span at the Senate swearing in?” the man, who reportedly was seated in the second row behind Biden’s sister Valerie, said as he interrupted the event on Sunday.
The comment came after Biden had been discussing his late son Beau’s disgust regarding a pediatrician who had been convicted of raping and molesting children.
In response, Biden said “This is not Trump world,” prompting the crowd to cheer.
The man was later removed from the event by security, and officials later said they were unsure who he was or how he obtained a seat near the front of the event.
The event was part of Biden’s American Promise Tour for his book Promise me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship and Purpose, which chronicles his son Beau’s battle with cancer. The book was published in November 2017. Beau Biden, who had served as attorney general of Delaware, died at the age of 46 in 2015 due to brain cancer.
