Comedian Kathy Griffin insinuated President Trump was a liar, saying she was in a hospital and claiming she was prevented from getting tested for the coronavirus because of the actions of his administration.
“He’s lying. I was sent to the #COVID19 isolation ward room in a major hospital ER from a separate urgent care facility after showing UNBEARABLY PAINFUL symptoms,” Griffin tweeted Wednesday. “The hospital couldn’t test me for #coronavirus because of CDC (Pence task force) restrictions. #TESTTESTTEST”

Griffin was responding to a tweet from Trump that touted the increased testing that is now available in the United States.
“Just reported that the United States has done far more “testing” than any other nation, by far!” he tweeted. “In fact, over an eight day span, the United States now does more testing than what South Korea (which has been a very successful tester) does over an eight week span. Great job!”
Griffin has been a longtime critic of Trump and received national attention in 2017 when a photo surfaced of her pretending to hold the president’s severed head in a move that harmed her career.
Griffin initially apologized for the photo before eventually retracting the apology.
Griffin said in 2019 that she was still receiving death threats over the picture.
“[Death threats are] the sort of thing that still happens on a regular basis,” she told the Daily Mail.
“My insurance premiums are through the roof. My legal bills are through the roof. My overhead is $200,000 a month. Most of it is legal bills and insurance premiums. And that’s just my new reality,” she said.
