Rapper Kanye West said Planned Parenthood clinics are instruments of evil.
In an interview with Forbes released Wednesday, West issued scathing remarks about Planned Parenthood, asserting it was created by racists with a malevolent agenda.
“Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work,” West said. The rapper said his position on abortion is motivated by his newfound devotion to Christianity. “I am pro-life because I’m following the word of the bible,” he said.
Planned Parenthood is a sexual healthcare organization that offers abortion services.
West’s wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, has publicly defended Planned Parenthood in episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. “The perception of Planned Parenthood is that it is an abortion clinic; that is nothing what it is like,” Kardashian West said after she and her sisters visited a Planned Parenthood facility in Los Angeles.
Khloe Kardashian, Kim’s younger sister, was a supporter of the abortion clinics before touring the facility, but said the visit made her “a big fan of Planned Parenthood now.”
West, who claims his political ambitions are no joke, said his presidency would be devoted to getting past conversations about race, endorsing a form of slavery reparations. “When I’m president, let’s also have some fun. Let’s get past all the racism conversation, let’s empower people with 40 acres and a mule, let’s give some land, that’s the plan,” the rapper said.
West said he has yet to detail his plans for issues such as taxes and foreign policy, but noted he will consult religious leaders for guidance and keep it under the guidelines of putting “America first.”
