An armed man drove a car through a protest and then shot one person during a demonstration in Seattle on Sunday.
Police said that the man, whose name has not yet been released, is in custody and that a gun was recovered from the scene. The 27-year-old shooting victim, who was hit in the arm, was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Videos posted to social media show protesters chasing a black Honda Civic before it collided with a metal barricade. One protester was reaching inside the driver’s window when a shot rang out, and he fell backward.
The driver exited the vehicle with what appeared to be a gun before walking into a crowd of protesters. The suspect then surrendered to law enforcement.

Protesters have organized across the country over the last two weeks following the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died on Memorial Day after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes despite his pleas for air.
In Seattle, police have used flash-bang devices and pepper spray to disperse crowds after rocks and explosives were thrown at them, according to NBC News.
