Laura Ingraham: Democrats embracing ‘victimhood’ in 2018

Fox News host Laura Ingraham said Monday evening the Democrats’ strategy going into the 2018 midterm elections is to embrace “victimhood.”

On her show, the conservative figure said the Democratic Party lacks an “actual plan to grow American prosperity and keep us safe,” and in lieu of anything positive to rally around, is playing the victim card.

As examples, Ingraham pointed to Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams’ remarks about illegal immigrants and voter suppression, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s claims about having Native American ancestry, of which a DNA test showed she likely has very little.

Ingraham concluded her monologue saying that the Democratic Party failed to get the “message” after the confirmation battle over Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, as Democrats largely sided with the women who accused him of sexual misconduct.

“Following the Kavanaugh battle, you would’ve thought so that the Democrats might’ve gotten the message that victimhood for political gain is not a great strategy,” Ingraham said. “It won’t work, and it hasn’t. And the good news is, the Republicans may have finally found their groove. They are out selling the peace, prosperity, and security agenda that [President] Trump won on and is delivering on. I don’t know. In the end, I think most Americans are just smart enough to see that victimhood is a dead end personally and politically.”
