Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski rehash feud with Trump over ‘face-lift’ comments

MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough skewered President Trump on Wednesday for saying it would be “vicious” and “unfair” to speculate that first lady Melania Trump had a face-lift, drawing attention to the fact that Trump once tweeted about Scarborough’s co-host and fiancee Mika Brzezinski going under the knife.

“I agree that it would be ‘vicious’ and ‘unfair’ to lie about a loved one having a facelift for the purpose of causing pain and embarrassment. Mr. President, can you imagine anyone would be so cruel to do such a thing?” Scarborough, of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program, wrote on Twitter.

Brzezinski then added sarcastically: “I can’t even imagine.”

In June 2017, Trump attacked the cable news personalities after a show in which they spent much of their airtime criticizing the president.

“I heard poorly rated ‘Morning Joe’ speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore),” Trump wrote in a pair of tweets. “Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came… to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

Brzezinski addressed Trump’s tweets in the next day’s episode, saying she was “OK” and admitted to getting her chin “tweaked.”

Trump on Wednesday accused the media of mistreating the first lady, who has rarely been seen in public since undergoing a kidney procedure in May.

“The Fake News Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great First Lady, Melania. During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. (and me) for N.Y. or Virginia, to abuse. All Fake, she is doing really well!” Trump tweeted.
