Former White House deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes said Wednesday morning that he hopes America turns out like what former President Barack Obama envisioned, rather than what President Trump sees.
“I do hope that in the long run, 10, 20 years from now, America’s going to look more like Barack Obama’s America than Donald Trump’s,” Rhodes told CNN. “And that’s what people like me are obviously going to try to work for.”

The comments were made while Rhodes was pumping up his recently published book “The World as It Is,” which is a memoir of his time in the Obama administration.
Rhodes said that in his book he outlines how Obama went through “the same process as a lot of us” on election night when it became clear that Trump was going to win the presidency.
