A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Chicago early Thursday morning after a home invader entered a South Shore apartment.
Chicago police said a male gunman came in through the back door of an apartment in the 2000 block of East 72nd Place at about 2 a.m., according to WLS.

The gunman began arguing with the 22-year-old before firing several shots, hitting the man in the chest, and leaving the scene. Police said the victim and suspect did not know each other.
The 22-year-old was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene and had yet to be identified.

Later on Thursday morning, police said the investigation was ongoing and that no one was in custody.
