$750 million lawsuit filed against Travis Scott and others after Astroworld tragedy

Another lawsuit has been filed in response to the Astroworld Festival tragedy, seeking $750 million in compensation.

Houston attorney Tony Buzbee filed a lawsuit Tuesday on behalf of more than 120 clients, including Axel Acosta Avila, who was among the 10 people who died after being crushed by the crowd at the November music festival.

Alleging “negligence/gross negligence,” Buzbee’s lawsuit targets an assortment of involved parties, including Travis Scott and the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation.

However, Buzbee takes things further by naming Apple Music, Epic Records, and other corporations that, according to a statement from Buzbee’s office, “stood to make millions from Astroworld and will share legal blame in a court of law.”

Buzbee also names performer Drake, who refused to end the concert as medical personnel approached the crowd.

“Indeed, rather than end the concert [Drake] continued, and then after went for a party at Dave & Buster’s, and then to a strip club where he spent more than $1 million,” the suit alleges.

Buzbee’s suit states Live Nation did not contract enough medical personnel to handle a crowd of 50,000, adding Harris County should have been more prepared considering Scott’s “repeated violent rhetoric, both at concerts and on social media.”
