Larry O’Connor sat down with White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley at the Washington Examiner broadcast booth at CPAC, the 2020 Conservative Political Action Conference at National Harbor, Maryland.
Gidley has been working in the Trump administration since October 2017 and also served as special assistant to the president until January 2019.
With his tenure in the administration and time spent as a political aide, Gidley is familiar with President Trump’s speeches and history with CPAC. When discussing the president’s 2019 CPAC speech, Gidley added that Trump “writes them; he really does.” Gidley asserts that while many politicians claim to write their own speeches, Trump dictates his own “because he wants it to flow a certain way.”
Trump is expected to address the crowd at CPAC on Saturday.
