Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner disregard coronavirus guidelines for Passover

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, both assisting the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus, disregarded state and federal guidelines during the pandemic for their Passover Seder.

The two White House advisers traveled with their three children to the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey to celebrate the first night of Passover last week, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

By the time the Jewish festival began, the city of Washington, D.C., had already issued a stay-at-home order, barring travel outside the home for all residents unless they’re performing essential activities. At the federal level, the nation has been instructed to follow a social distancing advisory to “slow the spread” of the virus until the end of the month.

Trump, who has advocated for people who can work from home to do so on multiple occasions, stayed in Bedminster after the Seder, while Kushner returned to the White House. President Trump’s golf club is currently closed amid the pandemic, thus offering his daughter a more socially distant option than her home in Washington, D.C.

The president has touted a second coronavirus-based task force, this one focusing on the economic ramifications of the crisis. Both Kushner and Ivanka Trump were rumored to be on the team, but the president denied the reports earlier this week.
