Fox News host urges Trump to veto ‘crap’ bill with no wall funding

Fox News host Pete Hegseth on Thursday called on President Trump to reject a government spending bill that doesn’t include any money for his border wall.

“Don’t listen to squish advisors,” Hegseth wrote on Twitter. “Your instincts are right. Dig in and fight.”

“Veto a crap CR bill w/ no WALL funding,” he added. “Make Dems own ‘open borders.’ Disrupt Washington, DC. Make them all squirm. The American people are behind you.”

“No WALL = SHUT IT DOWN,” Hegseth added.

The Senate late Wednesday passed a bill to keep parts of the government open past Friday, for two months. It doesn’t include the $5 billion in wall funding Trump has sought.

Trump hasn’t been explicit about whether he would sign that bill. But he and other White House officials have indicated they could live with it for now, and would try to fund the wall by using unallocated money already appropriated by Congress.

Hegseth said this is a “huge moment” for Trump because Democrats will control the House next year, making it even more difficult to secure wall funding.

“The Dems are about to control the House. They will NEVER fund (might de-fund!) the WALL,” he wrote. “The showdown is LITERALLY now or never. Don’t play DC games…”

He added in a third tweet that Trump taught Republicans how to fight, and said it won’t do to make “small progress.”

“Only a real WIN for a real WALL matters,” he wrote.
