Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted he had crossed the line more than once with his behavior toward women.
The “Terminator” actor denied sexual misconduct allegations when he was running for governor in 2003, but is now acknowledging he acted inappropriately.
“Looking back, I stepped over the line several times, and I was the first one to say sorry,” he told Men’s Health in a recent interview.
“I feel bad about it, and I apologize,” he said. “When I became governor, I wanted to make sure that no one, including me, ever makes this mistake. That’s why we took sexual harassment courses, to have a clear understanding, from a legal point of view and also from a regular behavior point of view, of what is accepted and what is not.”
Six women accused Schwarzenegger of groping them in encounters with him on movies sets and studio offices in the 1970s through 2000.
Schwarzenegger did not face criminal charges for his behavior, unlike other men in Hollywood whose alleged misconduct has led to their downfall.
