‘Pick up your ass and leave’: Mark Levin responds to Black Lives Matter leader’s threat to ‘burn down this system’

Radio host Mark Levin ripped a top Black Lives Matter activist’s threat to “burn down this system” if the organization’s demands aren’t met.

“You’re gonna burn what down, pal?” Levin shot back rhetorically at New York Black Lives Matter President Hawk Newsome Wednesday night on Fox News. “I’m sick and tired of these damn threats from people I don’t even know.”

“This is a civil society,” he continued. “It’s a great country. You don’t like it? Pick up your ass and leave. We have people trying to get into this country by the millions, from every continent on the face of the Earth. Every color, every background. Why? Because we’re systemically racist? We’re not systemically racist, and the police force isn’t systemically racist.”

Newsome had made the comment on Fox News just hours earlier.

“If this country does not give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it,” Newsome said. “I could be speaking figuratively; I could be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation.”

Levin expressed no doubt as to what Newsome and other social justice activists are advocating.

“It’s time to get behind the cops. It’s time for these pathetic Democrat mayors and governors to call in the National Guard,” Levin said. “It’s time to take our streets back, and I’m talking for tens of millions of people, a rainbow coalition of Americans — black, brown, white, yellow, red, whatever.”

Levin has been an outspoken critic of the looting and rioting sparked by the death of George Floyd in police custody on May 25.

Since the deaths of Floyd and Rayshard Brooks, calls for sweeping police reform have reverberated across the nation. Some Democratic politicians, celebrities, and media pundits have embraced calls from activists to “defund the police.”

President Trump has been critical of the “defund the police” movement and demanded that states and cities in Democratic hands do more to maintain “law and order” on their streets.

“These are not acts of peaceful protest,” Trump said during a speech in the White House Rose Garden earlier this month. “These are acts of domestic terror. If a city or state refuses to take the actions necessary to defend the life and property of the residents, I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”

Levin, a frequent advocate of Trump and his policies, warned that Black Lives Matter activists are not some loosely organized mob with no tangible goals or plans, but rather a legitimate outfit whose creation is the result of rhetoric espoused from the far-left wing of the Democratic Party.

“Now, these are Bernie Sanders radicals,” Levin said. “These are Marxists. They go out and get hats, and they get shirts, and they burn things down and break things in Democrat cities because these pathetic left-wing Democrat mayors won’t stand up to them.”
