UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson involved in car crash after protester runs into road

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in a minor car crash outside Parliament.

The prime minister was leaving the gates of the Palace of Westminster and proceeding onto Parliament Square in his Jaguar when the collision occurred on Wednesday. A protester on the sidewalk ran into the street in front of a police officer on a motorcycle, who then slammed on the breaks. Johnson’s vehicle, which was behind the officer, also came to a sudden stop.

A Range Rover in the convoy then drove into the back of Johnson’s car, leaving a dent on the vehicle, which then drove off. Downing Street confirmed that Johnson was inside the car at the time of the incident, the Daily Mail reported.

The accident was videotaped by anti-Brexit demonstrator Steve Bray, according to the Telegraph.

Downing Street added that no one was hurt during the incident, and the protester, who was demonstrating about Turkish action against Kurdish rebels, was detained by police.
